Current Projects & Technical Reports
A complete list of current projects together with Technical Progress Reports is now available. The progress reports are only available to CASTuniversity members and members of the CAST Industry Affiliate program. Enquiries should be directed to cast@vt.edu
CAST III Year 2
A total of 9 new proposals have been approved by DOE for funding. A further 12 proposals have been funded for the second year.

What is CAST?
CAST is a consortium of seven universities - Virginia Tech, West Virginia University, University of Kentucky, Montana Tech, New Mexico Tech, University of Nevada Reno and University of Utah.
CAST was formed in 2001 under the auspices of the U. S. Department of Energy (DOE) to conduct both fundamental and applied research in technologies that can be used to produce coal and mineral concentrates in an efficient and environmentally acceptable manner.
